According to the United Nations estimate, the world's population has reached 8 billion people on Tuesday. Pakistan is the fifth largest country in the world in terms of population. In this connection, Secretary Population Welfare Salman Ejaz said that Punjab is the most populous province of Pakistan. Rapid population growth means a continuous increase in needs like food, health, education, employment and infrastructure. Therefore, it is important to ensure balance in population and resources so that all people can live a prosperous life.
Director General Population Welfare Ms. Saman Rai said in this regard that there is a need to ensure the quality of life for each of the 8 billion people in the world. Population is an important criterion in global development but to achieve a sustainable global population, people need to be informed and empowered.
