Islam, Constitution of Pakistan Ensures Unprecedented Rights for Women: Basharat Raja

Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Local Government Muhammad Basharat Raja has said that the Punjab Government was committed to safeguard women’s rights and facilitate them at all levels. He said it while inaugurating newly established Day Care Center (DCC) at the MPA Hostel of Punjab Assembly on the eve of the International Women’s Day on Friday. The Minister for Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Minster for Prosecution Ch. Zaheer-ud-Din also accompanied him. Admiring the efforts of Minister Health, Basharat Raja said that it was the need of the day as female MPAs and employees of the Punjab Assembly were facing problems to care their children during working hours. He hoped that the DCC would improve their efficiency along with better care for their babies. The Minister Law said that already women workers have got relief by Working Women’s Protection Law prevailing in Punjab. He said that the women’s role is very important in all spheres of society including economy, politics, health, education, labour and services etc. “Our religion Islam as well as Constitution of Pakistan has given the unprecedented rights to the women so on this special day, I want to appreciate all of our women who are contributing to the great journey towards Naya Pakistan”, he added. The Minister directed the relevant officers to run the DCC consistently and efficiently to achieve its basic objectives.
