PFA Launches Campaign against Sale of Adulterated, Substandard Items

On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Food Authority is continuing its campaign against those selling adulterated and substandard items. Teams of Punjab Food Authority inspected different Ramzan Baazars and hotels of Lahore today. Gulberg Town team sealed Yasir Broast Faisal Town Link Road on poor cleanliness, arrested its owner Ali Hassan and got registered a case at Faisal Town police station. Quality of fruits, vegetables, drinks, flour, sugar and others was checked and substandard items were destroyed on the spot. On the orders of Chief Minister Punjab, banners having the instructions and phone number of Food Safety Officer of every town were got displayed at all stalls of Ramazan bazaars so that people could register their proposals and complaints without any hurdle. Moreover, officers of Punjab Food Authority imposed a fine of an overall 68 thousand rupees to Bandhu Khan Sweets & Bakers, Al-Fazal Milk Products, Butt Sweets and Shahi Nashta and Lahore Sweets besides 225 kg substandard pakorian, 20 kg sweets and 4800 liter soda water were also wasted.
