Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Livestock Chaudhry Arshad Jutt has said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, crackdown is continuing against those involved in running illegal slaughter houses and selling meat of dead animals. He said that instructions have been issued to district livestock officers to take strict action as per law against the persons involved in this heinous business in their respective districts. People have been appealed to point out illegal slaughter houses and persons involved in selling the meat of dead animals, donkeys and horses. He said that Livestock Department has arranged a free helpline and people can contact 080009211 in this regard. He further said that 1188 cases have been registered against those selling dead animal meat in Lahore during January to August 2015 and 866 maund haram meat has been wasted.
