The new e-abyana system will benefit more than 84 lac farmers while paving the way to good governance in the revenue system. This was stated by Provincial Revenue Minister Malik Muhammad Anwar while talking to a 6-member delegation of farmers at his office on Tuesday. The minister maintained that the digitalization of the revenue system will wholly revolutionize the revenue system as it would overcome the menace of maladministration while promoting transparency and efficiency. It will also streamline abyana collection in the province, he added. Giving the details, the minister said that the e-abyana system was being introduced in the Khanewal canal division, Layyah canal division, Sheikhupura canal division and Kasur canal division in the first phase. The farmers will be provided with their abyana details through an SMS and the abyana amount can be deposited to the government through Easypaisa or a bank. The minister maintained the new e-abyana system will overcome the problems being faced in the archaic revenue system spanning over a hundred years. The minister hoped that the new e-abyana system will overcome different problems and the updated database will also help the government in policy formulation, concluded the minister.
