The Government of Punjab is Working Hard to Cope with Smog Situation: Sheikh Alla-U-Din

Provincial Minister for Industry and Trade Sheikh Allaudin has said that according to NASA's report, the biggest cause of Smog in Punjab province is due to the burning of the remaining crops after harvesting in India. He said that the Government of Punjab is working hard to cope with this situation. The Minister said that Punjab Government has sent a message for Indian Government through social media website Twitter saying that we have imposed ban for burning of remains of crops, shuck and straw in our province and likewise expect same from our neighbor country. He expressed these views in a departmental meeting, today in industries department. Secretary industries Mujtaba Paracha and other officials were present there. Secretary industries briefed that the Environment Protection department has sealed 250 industrial units, which utilize poor coal, tires and other non-futile fuel, while FIR has been registered against 60 factories. The action has been taken against 21 thousand vehicles. Ban under section 144 have been imposed in the province against burning of crops roots and their leftover. Agriculture department has educated three million farmers about alternative sources of destroying remains of crops instead of burning them. In order to cope with the dust, washing of Roads has also been started in Lahore. The Minister Industries said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in his own working style has devoted the entire government machinery to take effective measures for ending the bug.  He said that Chief Minister directed that all possible measures should be taken for reducing hazardous smog and saving human health moreover instead of imprecision, all departments should join hands to work against it.
