It is imperative to create awareness among the masses about human rights with an aim to establish peace and tolerance in the society. Said the speakers while addressing a training session on “Humanity, Altruism and Citizenship in Pakistan” held at University of the Punjab (PU) here on Wednesday.
The training was inaugurated by PU Vice Chancellor Dr. Zaffar Mueen Nasar and Human Rights Federal Secretary Rabiya Javeri Agha, Justice (R) Nasira Javed Iqbal and others were also present. The speakers emphasized that understanding of education was an important factor to handle things in a mature manner. Teachers were being trained because they play a major role in nourishment of the nation and the training would help them in creating awareness among students to promote a culture of mutual respect, tolerance, gender equality, awareness of rights in an inclusive society, the speakers added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the main focus of the training is to create awareness about human rights and to sensitize the masses about the fundamental human rights which were guaranteed under the constitution.
