Minister Law Commemorates 1st Anniversary of Turkish Coup

Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sana Ullah Khan has said that the Military Coup in Turkey was a conspiracy against progress and prosperity of the masses which the Turk people have foiled through their unity and spirit of patriotism. He was addressing a ceremony to commemorate the first anniversary of the Coup attempt of July 15, 2016 in Turkey, held here at Shaheen Complex today. Serdar Deniz, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey, Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, Chairman Steering Committee Metro Train Orange Line and Khawaja Suhmail, Additional Chief Secretary were present on this occasion.
Rana Sana Ullah Khan said that it is impossible to find appropriate words to describe the brutality that the miscreants displayed that night. It was the worst act of terror in the history of the Turkish Republic. He said that it was the people of Turkey from all backgrounds and political views who resisted and displayed a historic example of solidarity as they stood selflessly in front of the tanks and reclaimed their democratic rights. It is the prime responsibility of any State to take necessary measures to confront the threats against its state and the people, he added.
Earlier, the honourable Consul General Serdar Deniz said that we are determined to fight anti-state elements with three things which are rule of law, morality, and democracy. He said that this is the only way to counter with such enemies of democracy.
