Minister Health Paid Surprise Visit To BBH Rawalpindi

Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique paid a surprise visit to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi on Thursday. Kh. Salman Rafique inspected the parking stand, hospital cafeteria, different wards, pharmacy, outdoor, laboratory, radiology diagnostic. He also reviewed the cleanliness and hygienic conditions in the hospital. He was furious to see the poor cleanliness conditions and garbage in the parking stand area and hospital’s cafeteria. The Minister took serious notice of the situation and directed to impose penalty of Rs. 5000 to the parking and Rs. 10 thousand to the contractor of the hospital’s cafeteria. Kh. Salman Rafique inquired from the patients admitted in the wards about the facilities and provision of free medicines to them. The patients expressed their satisfaction over the situation. Kh. Salman Rafique conveyed displeasure to the Medical Superintendent over the mismanagement of parking and canteen and asked the hospital administration to make regular inspection and take rounds the hospital instead of sitting in the rooms. He said that instead of waiting the visit of the Minister, cleanliness drive should be continue as a routine work on regular basis and the MS, AMS and other administrative doctors should monitor the situation personally. He said that good state of cleanliness and hygiene would help in infection control which is a basic requirement of every hospital.
