Additional Staff Would Be Provided To Small Hospitals To Deal With Increasing Burden Of Patients

Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Kh. Salman Rafiq has said that increasing number of patients in government hospitals is the proof of public confidence on the medical facilities, which are being extended in the state run hospitals. He said that additional doctors and paramedical staff, would be provided to such hospitals for efficient provision of medical cover to the patients.

He stated this while chairing a meeting in the office of Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Punjab here today. The meeting reviewed the human resource requirements of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Muridke, Dialysis Centre, Muridke, THQ Hospital Raiwind, Rana Abdul Rahim Hospital Sodiwal and Govt. Samanabad Hospital. Besides, Secretary P&SH Ali Jan Khan, Additional Secretary Admin Dr. Adnan Zafar, Additional Secretary Development Dr. Faisal Zahoor and Additional Secretary Technical Dr. Muhammad Asim attended the meeting. The meeting gave approval to provide additional staff to the said hospitals, which included gynecologist, medical officers, women medical officers, ENT surgeon, charge nurses, operation theater attendants, laboratory and X-rays technicians, Lady Health Visitors, ward boys and “Ayas”. Kh. Salman Rafiq said that by providing additional staff to these hospitals, waiting time of the patients would be reduced and better health facilities would also be available to the patients. The meeting approved provision of 26 posts to the THQ Hospital Muridke which included gynecologist, anesthetist and charge nurses, similarly, 36 posts approved for THQ Hospital Raiwind, 18 posts for Dialysis Center, Muridke, 3 for the Sodiwal Hospital 20 posts for Govt. Samanabad Hospital, Lahore. These posts included Medical Officers, WMO, laboratory and X-rays technicians and charge nurses.
