When is the Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh celebrated?

The Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh is celebrated on 18th to 20th Safar every year. This Urs is celebrated in a befitting manner. Arrangements are made for distributions of Langar to the visitors at alarge scale. A Pandaal is set up for Qawali. Sabeel of Milk is set up. Prominent Ulma are called for speeches. Qirat Competition is also held and a Majlis-e-Muzakara is arranged during the Urs. Similarly the Urs of Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Masud Gunj Shakar is held w.e.f. 25th Zilhaj to 10th Muharam-ul-Haraam.During this Urs arrangements for distribution of Langar to the visitors are also made on a large scale. The Baheshti Darwaza is opened for the visitors / devotees. Pandaal of Qawali is set-up. Prominent Ulmaz delivered speeches on the teachings of Baba Sahab.
   
How is the Jahez fund distributed?

The Committee consisting of women has been set-up for the distribution of Jahez to Girls. It invites applications for this purpose and after thorough scrutiny, Jahez is distributed to the deserving girls.This facility is only available at Data Darbar, Lahore.
   
What facilities are available at the Data Darbar Hospital?

At Data Darbar Hospital the general public is provided the facility of Eye, Dental & Gaynaecology.This Hospital works in two shifts.The indoor facility are provided for Eye and Gaynaecology Departments.
   
How is waqf property acquired/released? Top
A Waqf Property is taken over after its proper survey by the Revenue Staff of the Auqaf Organization.A notification is issued by the Chief Administrator of Auqaf under section 7 of the Punjab Waqf Properties Ordinance 1979.The property can be released by issuing a withdrawl notification under the above ordinance.
   
How waqf agricultural land and contracts at shrines are administered?

The Waqf agricultural lands and various contracts at shrines are auctioned in open public auction for which terms and conditions are announced at the spot by the Managers. Prior to auction vide publicity is made through the press and the hand bills. The duration of the contract is one year. The contract amount is received in advance but in rare cases this amount is received in installments.
   
Are Auqaf publications available free of cost?

The Auqaf Publications are not available free of costs. The books are sold at a reasonable price and are available at the Ulma Academy.
   
How are Nazrana at various shrines collected and managed?

For collection of Nazrana in cash, sealed cash boxes are placed at the shrines in which the visitors put their Nazrana in the shape of cash for other Nazranajaat (e.g. eatables_ these are distributes at the shrines by the devotees and also by the employees of the Auqaf Organization.Other Nazranajaat are received by issuing proper receipt.
   
Does the Auqaf Department publishes books or booklets on the life and teachings of Saints?

During the Urs of various important Saints, booklets are published giving a brief sketch of their life and teachings. These booklets are distributed to the visitors free of cost.
   
Does the Auqaf Department provide training to Ulema?

For the present in-service training is imparted to the Auqaf Ulmaz but in future the Private Ulmaz will also be given training in the Ulma Academy Auqaf Punjab, Lahore.
   
Can a Deeni Madrasa get waqf land from the Auqaf Department?

The Waqf land is not leased out to Deeni Madrasas on long lease and there is no such policy of the Auqaf Organization.
   
How are Khateeb, Imam, Mudaris & Muazin recruited by the Auqaf Department?

For appointment against the post of Khateeb, Imam and Mudaris / Muazin, the posts are advertised in the press and recruitment is done by a committee comprising of prominent Ulmas.
   
Does Auqaf Department lease out land for residential purposes?

In the past the land was leased out for residential purposes by Auqaf Organization to its employees but for the present there is no such policy.
   
How shrines, mosques and other such buildings are maintained by the Auqaf Department?

For the Shrines and Mosques, religious purpose committees are constituted which are recommended by the Manager. Each such committee consists of at least 7 persons in which there is a Chairman from the public, the Khateeb Imam of the Mosque is nominated as member whereas the Manager acts as Secretary of the Committee.
